Freezing Fire Part One _ Houdini Tutorial

So being the basic girl I am, I got inspired by a couple of Instagram posts.I follow the weather network on Instagram, and I saw this post of a man breathing fire into the cold air. Instantly the VFX artist in me was like: Whoa! I have to make this! Sorry for the delay and recording issues again, something are just not meant to be.

So here is my best attempt at making something like this. I hope you enjoy it.

Freezing Fire Part Two _ Houdini Tutorial

Part 2 is finally here! Sorry for the delay, but some of my other Houdini studies had to be taken care of first, plus working from home has thrown my schedule out of wack. Hope you all are doing well through this pandemic.
In this tutorial we’ll be working on the materials of the fire, and making sure it blends with the ice better. We’ll also be breaking the ice, and creating collision objects.

Finally some thanks! Thanks to Andrew, Jorge, James, Song, and Joseph. You guys have been amazing to work with, and so patient during this pandemic. A big thanks to everyone else at Soho VFX for hanging in there, and staying calm and happy through this crisis. Good luck Moe on your technical entry in Ubisoft’s Next 2020 challenge. You’re going to do great.

To my Humber College peers who just graduated. Good luck, and I’m sorry your graduation wasn’t what you expected. I’m sure you’ll have fun and make up for the missed time later this year.
