This tutorial is made to show how you can use and build a simple tree simulation system for the Vertex Trees – Scots Pines from darstellungsart.com inside of Houdini 17.

This tutorial also provide a free Gumroad Download with the Houdini Asset. All shaders and the FEM setup is included in the file. The entire File is premade for all trees and for rendering in Redshift for Houdini.

This download will not include the Trees. 

You need to buy them from Darstellungsart in order to be able to use the downloaded Houdini Setup.

To be able to use the Houdini file make sure to follow the instructions and suggestions in the tutorial and also the description boxes inside the Houdini file.

Installation and Suggestions:

All texture files needed to be unpacked in:

$HIP/tex/

example: “C:/graphics/PineTree01/tex/”

the Hipfile should be placed accordingly in “C:/graphics/PineTree01/”

All fbx files should be in one folder:

for example:

$HIP/download/DA01 Vertex Trees – FBX/FBX files/

“C:/graphics/PineTree01/download/DA01 Vertex Trees – FBX/FBX files/”
