Camera Tracking Look At Direction Following Object in Houdini

In this video, I continue expanding the Camera Tracking topic and expand on this it to include camera Face tracking, where the camera direction will follow another object, which is handy if you need have a stationary camera in the scene and moving objects you want in your camera shot. I’ll also use an attribute wrangle to lock the camera tracking onto 1 axis, so it only follows a particular axis.

Camera Tracking Objects by Translation Position in Houdini

In this video, I’m going to demonstrate a simple technique I use to setup my Camera Tracking. This is a more procedural technique where the camera can dynamically track an object on the SOP level and or Object level. When I was setting up a scene for a previous video, I noticed that the camera tracking shelf tool wasn’t working out for simulations, because the simulations were moving the objects in the SOP level. So that’s what inspired this video.
